Eight years ago, Dave Schweiger began speaking up in favour of animals.Busting illegal dog breeders in the Las Vegas valley was his most recent mission.

Schweiger says, "There are just heaps and tonnes of ads. "Here's one from two hours ago: puppies of the American bulldog."

The Illegal Breeder Busters are Schweiger and a few other volunteers. The group regularly comes across unlicensed breeders operating in the open and selling puppies

Schweiger rattles off the breeds listed in the ads, the majority of which are placed on Facebook groups and Craigslist:

These large sums of money cause a significant issue. Councilwoman Victoria Seaman of Las Vegas claims that things have gotten out of hand.
