According to Metro Police, a man who is accused of breaking into a power station and torching a car near to a transformer has been detained on a terrorist charge.

Police claimed that Mohammed Mesmarian, 34, was apprehended in Boulder City on Thursday after being located by counterterrorism detectives.

At around 11:35 a.m. on Wednesday, Mesmarian is accused of breaking into a power plant in the 10500 block of U.S. 93 and causing damage by lighting a car on fire,

Police omitted the name of the power plant. There are solar power facilities nearby in addition to the Harry Allen Generating Station owned by NV Energy.

Mesmarian was arrested at the Clark County Detention Center and charged with first-degree arson, third-degree arson, and conducting an act of terrorism.
